A charity called Grow Old Disgracefully is on the lookout for anyone aged 90 and over to enter their achievement competition.

Inspired by our very own Captain Sir Tom Moore it is hoping to find an outstanding person in this age group to follow in his footsteps.

Nominations for the prize must be in by August 31 and full details can be found here - and the charity organisers are looking for someone who has challenged themselves and the perception of ageing, inspired others by their achievement and done or created something that totally defies expectations.

A spokesman for the charity said: "We are hoping that this award will shine a light on the over 90s in the country that are doing things that totally defy our expectations.

"The prize will be £200 plus a tree of the winner’s choice to be planted near their home."
